Does anyone know where to look for knowledge on doing your own SEO for your website?

I was going to do a joomla site but think maybe a regular html site with good SEO would be better. What is your opinion?

No more websites! Just do a simple wordpress or joomla. I actually have currently 9 dynamic web templates, and before that I had 70 webpages that had to be updated one at a time every time I changed I line of code. It is still cumbersome to change even the wordpress blog and I don't think I am ever going back to designing which can make a grown man weep. Or at least I wept, I wept openly and unabashedly. I am weeping all over my keyboard right now.

If its one thing that I lack most its SEO skills I really need to get with the times and start learning really you can just google SEO tips and keywords like that and find a ton of great information.

SEO can be learned by anyone who has a decent idea of search engines work in relation to keywords, and adapt accordingly. In a year I was able to familiarize myself with several different SEO strategies; from link building to ensuring maximum landing page optimization. SEO is really a practice of patience, if you put in the work, results will follow soon enough. Promote white-hate tactics!

What do you mean by Promote white-hate tactics?

Hi Mark, In regards to promoting white-hat SEO. Many companies that provide SEO services are often practicing in shady practices that shed a bad light on the entire industry. Keyword stuffing, spam, etc. At my company it is our priority to provide our clients results using white-hat techniques. My .02.
